Product Description
Since the building’s opening at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition (World’s Fair), Lions have stood outside to protect it. The building became the permanent home of the Art Institute at the conclusion of the fair.
Fun Fact-The two lions on Michigan avenue are not identical and therefor have names that match their poses. The North lion is "On the prowl” while the South lion “Stands in an attitude of defiance.”
Local Chicago artist Joe Mills put his Chicago touch on this design and it stands as one of our favorites.
